The finale to the Virginia Maritime Association’s 100th year will be celebrated as a fundraiser for the Federation of Virginia Food Banks from 12:00-1:00pm on February 12, 2021. As VMA concludes its first century and begins a new century of maritime industry growth, we are excited so see members, partners, and the public enjoying this uplifting and entertaining live program to raise funds that will help struggling Virginians keep themselves and their families fed during these difficult times.
The Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) was organized in 1920 to promote, protect and encourage international and domestic commerce through Virginia’s Ports. With a membership of over 450 companies, employing over 70,000 Virginians, the Virginia Maritime Association is widely recognized as “The Voice of Port Industries,” the premier business organization to enhance competitiveness and promote commerce through Virginia’s ports.
The Federation of Virginia Food Banks is the Commonwealth’s largest charitable response to hunger, representing Virginia’s seven Feeding America food banks and 1,500 partner agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. In SFY 2019, the Federation and its member food banks were able to acquire and distribute 120 million pounds of food and grocery items.
