During this unprecedented moment, The Federation of Virginia Food Banks is working with our seven regional food banks across the state to ensure we can continue to provide food to those in need.

We are working hard to maintain our level of service and are working with our partners across the state to implement safe and effective measures for our staff, volunteers, and our clients.

We are poised to deliver additional resources where they are needed, but we know we cannot do it alone. We are grateful for the support of Governor Northam and the state agencies with authority over federal commodity and nutrition programs.

We are in daily contact with state and local health officials and agencies to ensure we are distributing food items and meals in the safest way possible.

Please remember that SNAP is the first line of defense against hunger you can apply for benefits either online at https://commonhelp.virginia.gov/, by phone at 1-855-635-4370, or if necessary, in-person at their local Department of Social Services office.

Volunteer

Food banks rely heavily on volunteers to maintain operations. If you are healthy and able, we encourage you to respond in this time of great need. High school and college students, reach out to your food banks to volunteer.
