Millions of Virginians lack access to nutritious food because they live in ‘food deserts,’ places designated by the USDA as having a low concentration of supermarkets in proportion to the population.

Senator Mark Warner and Rep. Donald McEachin hope to incentivize investment from grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, and other nonprofits through their new bill, the Healthy Food Access for All Americans Act.
