The Federation of Virginia Food Banks is a collaboration among Virginia’s food banks, partners and neighbors to improve nutrition security and build strong, healthy communities.
Virginia’s food banks are stepping up like never before. Together, we served 175 million pounds of groceries in 2024 through a network of more than 2,000 neighborhood pantries and distribution sites like schools or clinics. We advocate for strong anti-hunger policies and work with many partners—from farmers to healthcare providers—to ensure fewer Virginians find themselves in need.
Working together as the largest hunger-relief network in the Commonwealth, Virginia’s seven regional food banks distributed 175 million pounds of food through over 2,000 partners in 2023. Collectively, our network saw a 20% increase in visits to pantries in the last year.
