142 Firms Participated in State-Wide Campaign
To celebrate the 16th annual Legal Food Frenzy, law firms, legal departments, government offices, and law schools across Virginia renewed their annual tradition of supporting the Commonwealth’s food banks through a friendly statewide competition in partnership with the Attorney General’s Office and Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. Over the course of the 11 day competition, the legal community stepped up to the plate once again and raised the equivalent of 1.4 million meals for neighbors in need.
This year’s effort comes after skyrocketing food, fuel, and housing prices have made it very difficult for families on low or fixed incomes to make ends meet. The support of the legal community makes it much easier for us to get enough fresh, healthy food into the communities we serve.
We are grateful to the VBA and Attorney General Miyares for continuing the tradition of partnership. We look forward to building on the success of our collective efforts in 2023.
The Legal Food Frenzy is an annual collaboration of the Attorney General’s office, the Young Lawyers Division of the Virginia Bar Association, and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks. It has leveraged the competitive spirits of the Commonwealth’s legal professionals to provide more than 20 million pounds of food to Virginia’s food bank network since it launched statewide in 2007.
